Event Description

Join EOK for informal dinner and drinks at Smoky Mountain Brewery in Turkey Creek. There is no charge to attend. The Brewery's full menu and bar will be available at your cost. The event will kick off with a presentation on real estate investment on South Knoxville Waterfront. Speakers are listed below:

Kevin Hill
Mr. Hill is a native Knoxvillian and graduate of the University of TN. After graduation Kevin worked in retail management and eventually joined his family real estate firm, 1st TN Realty, were he served both as a Realtor and Real Estate Relocation Coordinator. After several years as a real estate professional Kevin pursued a sense of calling to vocational ministry. In this endeavor Kevin has been completing two Masters degrees at Regent College in Vancouver BC. While studying in Vancouver Kevin has had the opportunity to witness the tremendous impact that premier revitalization projects can have on a community. Vancouver is one of North America's top sites for industrial redevelopment with such projects as the False Creek and Yaletown Communities. As Kevin has pursued his education in this context he has also been captured by the idea of integrating his entrepreneurial spirit with his vision for positive social impact through re-engagement with the marketplace in a manner balancing work, home, and rest. As witnessed in the Vancouver context this balance is effectively reached when development integrates commercial, residential, and community eminities within a compact and accessible footprint. In relation to tonight's presentation, he has spent the past year studying the development plan and cultivating very strong relationships with key principles throughout the city. Kevin so strongly believes in the viability of this project that he has already invested in residential property in the targeted zone and plans to inhabit it some time in the coming months with his wife Cheryl and new son Caleb.

Jim Resha
For more than 20 years, Mr. Resha has excelled in commercial and industrial real estate, finance, and senior management. Today, Jim, as company president, directs the current and future success of Integrity Real Estate & Investment Group. Previously, as the CEO of P-R Properties, he directed the sales, leasing, development, and management of commercial and industrial real estate. Jim has developed and later managed all aspects of a major 50 acre three-phase industrial park. Due to Jim's excellent leadership the park maintained the highest occupancy in the area and generated more than $7 million in revenues annually. In addition to success in real estate, Jim has proven his management prowess in event management, sales, and finance. He has coordinated planning and operational details of major events, such as a rally with more than 1 million attendees. As president/CEO of Precision Events Inc., he accelerated annual sales from $175,000 to more than $5 million in just three years. At a financial institution, he originated more than $100 million annually in commercial financing, primarily for property purchases and new construction.

In regard to the project at hand, Jim has direct experience in consulting and leading waterfront redevelopment and city economic redevelopment strategic planning. In Bellingham WA Jim served the city as a planning consultant mapping out the steps that would lead to a successful final project involving a complex multi stake-holder approach and involving a waterfront requiring significant environmental clean-up and rehabilitation from past industrial use. The city of Yorba Linda CA has recently contracted Jim to give leadership to the city's initiatives for economic development. It is Jim's proven success in the area of Private/Public Partnerships, particularly waterfront redevelopment, and project capitalization that uniquely equips him to lead a large scale redevelopment on the South Knoxville Waterfront.
