John was born in Knoxville, TN, and has lived here all 24 years of his life. He grew up on the East side of Knoxville with his older brother, mother, and father. As a very active child, John soon realized that he stood out against the crowd, and did not share the same interests as most of his friends. Although this led him to be very shy, it also taught him how unique he really was.
John moved to Karns in 1996 to live with his father and stepmother. It was then that he unleashed his skills as a programmer and designer. Striving to gain popularity with the new crowd at his new school, John learned HTML, and began building websites for his friends.
From there, the story of his life unraveled. At 17, he was hired as a layout designer for a Knoxville, TN printing company, where he sharpened his skills as a graphic designer. John went on to work for several local companies as a graphic designer, web designer, or programmer. He holds two degrees, and several industry-specific certifications. John now represents Searchlight Creative Group, a local marketing and web design firm, and he also co-owns Lava Recording Company, a local recording/ music production company.

John,
Sounds great. Add some information here about your start-up and we'll get some people involved! Also, Knoxville Overground, is a great place to go with a non-profit start-up. You could talk to Alex Lavidge and Greg Compton about your project.
