One more thing, my wife and I are doing a 3-day in/out at the Grand Canyon in December (18-20, I think). I have 4 extra spaces on my back country permit if anyone wants to come with.
If so, you welcome to tag along for the entire trip 12/13-12/23:
2 days in Mojave (Kelso Dunes, etc)
1 day in Painted Desert
4 days at Grand Canyon (including 3 day in/out)
3 days in Vegas

I would love to join this hike, but this next week is too full. Count me in for the LeConte hike when it happens.

Sounds good; let's meet Monday morning 8:30 a.m. in the Panera North Peters parking lot; We'll leave by 9:00 a.m. I'll drive my Yukon and can take 5 comfortably. I say we do The Chimneys for this first outing since it's a little less challenging, much shorter, and very beautiful.
9:00 a.m. Leave Panera N. Peters
10:00 a.m. Arrive Sugarlands Visitor's Center
Bathroom break
10:45 a.m. Arrive Trail Head
Hike up about an hour
Enjoy lunch/view for an hour
Hike down less than an hour
2:00 p.m. Leave Trail Head
3:30/4:00 Arrive Panera N. Peters
Map Panera to Sugarlands Visitor Center

- Mondays work for me; Wednesdays are tough due to EOK meeting and Dr. Scot's training. Fridays work but I have a standing meeting 7-8 a.m. and couldn't leave until after.

- I can do a weekday: Monday's are great and some Wednesdays or Fridays.
