Few initiatives effect our bottom line, our lifestyle and our health like conserving energy

One of the difficulties in developing a program of accountability for building energy efficiency is a lack of objective data from building materials manufacturers, who tend to greenwash and overstate the effectiveness of their products. Also, TVA wants to avoid the legal consequences of 'rating' building products. Efficiency should include IAQ and renewability aspects of materials, as well as heat loss performance. How can these issues be included in a comprehensive efficiency analysis?

I have just joined this forum and don't really know where I should post this. I'm sorry if this is the wrong place and would appreciate someone helping me.

I have an Idea for a green business with low start up costs and low overhead. I just need to find someone, who like me, thinks it's a good idea and would like to start a business together. I believe we could get government grants and that once started the business could grow nationally.

The pending TVA comprehensive homes program needs accurate home analysis to be sure that we get all the efficiency from each home. If we want to "mine" the power now being wasted by leaky homes with porous duct systems there needs to be a program of accountability that confirms we have left nothing on the table in terms of energy savings.

TVA and MLS should join hands and support an Energy rating at the point of sale. Much like the EPA / MPG for your car we can do it for existing homes. This would create a need for a service business focused on efficiency in home energy use. A trade developed to improve energy conservation and indoor air quality.
