Vertical Bike Rack

I'll try to get some sketches added but the idea is a hitch mounted rack with vertical racks to hang bikes straight up and down similar to a garage system to get the bikes off the floor.

Reason for new design:

I have (4) boys and when we take our bikes anywhere I have to carry
6 bikes. Also, kids bikes and some newer adult bikes don't have a
frame that fits traditional hitch mounted racks. The rack won't fit
through the bike. It would be great if I could put 6-8 bikes
vertically behind my truck.

Sounds good. Where can we prototype an aluminum design? We need to get a team put together...designer, marketing, engineer, patent info.

There is a company in West K'ville called Machine Automation. (Between Kingston Pike and the I-40, west of Cedar Bluff). They carry AL parts for building all sorts of frames and mechanical jigs. They could probably provide COTS pieces for most of a prototype.

Yes, maybe we should look at off the shelf parts first then design the prototype based on available parts. I've even thought about using some of the industrial erector set product to build the prototype but that stuff is pricey.
