An outsourcing task completion service

Plan: We put together a team of experts capable of handling an array of tasks of various topics. We register an account on Remember The Milk as "getitdone" and users of RTM can share tasks with us. The user marks the task with a dollar amount they're willing to spend to have that task completed. We use an escrow service; complete the task; collect the money; check off the task. User is happy and we are happy.

We are an anonymous pool of experts completing various tasks on people's to-do lists.

Sounds like a good plan. Somewhat like shopping around, but all in one place. Should we also list the services we are willing to offer? How do we determine who gets paid from the escrow? What if two people wish to do the task? How is it determined who will do the task? Since this is done in virtual space, shouldn't we collect the money up front instead of doing the task and not getting paid? I like the concept.
We will not have overlap in skill sets. Each team member will have responsibility for a specific discipline and that project leader will ensure the tasks they take on are completed.

We will market getitdone.com as a "personal assistant", "task manager", "time manager", "personal coach"... Our clients: anyone looking for ways to outsource tasks and be more productive.

We need a mindmap and google doc to start shaping this into a real business. Startup costs are very low. We just put ourselves out there and start solving problems.

Potential Clients will like the idea of no setup fee or monthly fee...just pay for what you receive.

The dollar amount will dictate the "quality" and "quantity" of work. We will always deliver the best solution for the money but the client dictates the value.

for example:

Client A Shared Task: Research ABC, Inc. for Tuesday sales call $5.00
Client B Shared Task: Research ABC, Inc. for Tuesday sales call $75.00

The responses and deliverables will be very different for these two clients.

I'm not too worried about getting paid...especially if we are using an escrow service.
Great idea. You know that when it comes to doing tasks I am on board. Yet another great idea for EOK members to jump right into.
Love this idea. Count me in.
I would like to be included, but I think the people interested should get together and work out the details. even if you have someone that pays for the service, we would probably need some percentage of the money to stay with the business. I am not too familiar with an escrow service other than how it applies to mortgages.
I've used escrow services with ebay and elance.

With http://elance.com you register your credit card/checking account if you're a buyer and when you submit a proposal and accept a bid your put the money for the project in escrow. You (the buyer) controls the release of the funds according to the invoicing schedule and milestones agreed to with the service provider.

I agree about getting together and working out the details. Let's meet Wed after the EOK meeting and again Thursday night (Pub Night) to discuss this further. I'll get a plan and mind map started.
Sounds great. I would love to help out.
Leo,

Should those of us who want to start this get together to discuss what services we are offering and how we answer requests, etc.
Yes, let's talk Friday after the board meeting. We can skype/conference you in if you can't make it. Does 10:00 a.m. work for everyone?
This Friday at 10am? I will need to get a micophone this evening or just type I suppose but I can make it at 10 am. I can design the website for us and of course have some other skills I could offer as well.
I can skype out to a land line or cell if you prefer. Just private message me with a number to use.
I would be interested in being involved with this. If someone could get back with me and let me know what I could do to help I would appreciate it.
