Does anyone know of a system of how to make the "School Coupon Book" more tech savy. Here's the idea: set up a website to sell "coupon books"...for $10 you get the standard paper coupon book, delivered to your house AND a card...maybe a key fob card like Kroger Card or a credit card size card. The $10 gets you the paper book with the normal "small value coupons" and you take the card with your on-line id and can "purchase additional coupons. The online coupons would be "higher value coupons" that can be loaded individually or purchased in bulk for a yearly fee. So you get the paper copy which save you a few bucks here and there...no one ever uses them all, but the on-line portion of the card would get you...let's say $25 off a $50 purchase or more at Ruth's Chris or whatever. The question: Why not develop a web based coupon card. Just an idea...so where better to post such an idea than the IDEA POOL. *I understand there would be some hardware and software and database type solutions that would have to be created, but I'll get much smarter folks than me to figure that out* Any ideas?
What about going completely electronic? The kids could just sell codes that allows someone to gain access to their electronic coupon book. We could have a mobile app that shows the barcode that you need and it's electronically removed from the list of available.
Tracking would be awesome, reduced printing costs (more money to school), online advertising for sponsors, tracking of sales would be automatic (see who sells most codes), could gift coupons or codes online to family and friends.
http://cellfire.com/ sends coupons to your phone OR directly to your frequent buyer card. So if you are shopping at Kroger, you go to the website and load the coupons you want to use onto the Kroger card and at the register they automatically get used.
I agree. I was talking to my wife last night, and she said mentioned cell fire to me as well. So I am checking into that technology too. thanks for the reply.
I received a "Giving Card" from www.donorschoose.org today, which allows me to elect which classroom to apply funds. I could see this integration into this site as well. For example, a child could send the email requesting participation from a grandparent and instead of actually using the coupon service they could directly apply the funds to the child's classroom, or they could "gift" the card to another family member.
